Poverty has not only plagued children of lower income neighborhoods, hardly it has trapped them in a perpetuating cycle of ignorance and perdition. One whitethorn not always be a product of ones purlieu; however ones environment can greatly influence the flush ones future may take. As a Man of subterfuge whom also hails from a low income neighborhood, I analyzeed the splendour of a proper education early in my childhood. passim my education I rush learned and explored my passions. Ones passion may reside in poetry, art or science, my passion is to make a real difference in the lives of children; surgical incisionicularly children with autism. Our educational system is not always nice to address the needs of these children. It is my firm belief that one must be properly trained as well as compassionate in order to provide autistic children with a nurturing and enlightening environment. So that they can develop and home in on new skills that forget help them become autarkic as well as self-actualized. I privation to centre Teach for America in order to do my part in enriching the educational progress of autistic children.
As a corps member I intend to imbed in the mind of the students the importance of learning to potentially reach a level of independence.
Independence is not easily gained; autistic children leave alone inevitably grow into autistic adults, so it is pertinent that they learn the skills, which will help them, become as autonomous as possible. It is indeed my goal to not only provide these children with way and therapy, but provide them with a new way of life. Teachers have a huge responsibility to these children, for what they learn in therapy will be applied to the rest of their lives; this is why I wish to continue to expand my education with Teach for America. As a therapy assistant, I believe that ones goal should be to teach a student how to learn in order to make them a more effective student.
