Throughout history, the fount veil, also referred to as the niqab or burka depending on its form, has been an essential form of attire for many Moslem women all over the world and is often considered as a religious obligation. In modern day society, the wearing of vitrine veil is practiced by all kinds of women whether they are Moslem or not, and for various different reasons. However, as of April 11, 2011, France became the first country in Europe to see a negative on the wearing of the niqab and burqa in public. The French government rationalized their blackball by stating that enacting the fairness is in the best traditions of the French republic, which declares all citizens equal before the law andno less importantequal in the face of one another (Hitchens). The French government believes that these traditional Muslim face veils are hindering the equality for women and its citizens, and therefore do it illegal to publicly wear the niqab and burqa. The state justifies the ban hike up by proclaiming that it would help preserve French cultural set and values, establish national assimilation, and relieve what is supposedly oppression against women.
Although it is unbowed that Islamic culture suppress women to some degree, subjugation of women is then at odds in Western cultures, and outlawing the right to liberally veil volition not solve these problems. Frances ban of the niqab and burqa is not the proper solution to assimilate Muslim women more equally into their republic society, by restricting them from their usance and traditional garments will not make them more French, it will only make France less free.
Prior to the niqab/burqa ban in France, there was a growing universe of fiver million Muslims and an estimate 2,000 of them actively wears the full-body veil.
