People relate and touch base with stories that illustrate a common theme. This particular theme is that identity and heritage can be sought and discovered through certain life experiences.Two short stories specifically , Everyday substance abuse by Alice Walker and The Moths by Helena Maria Viramontes paints a vivid picture of discovery and acceptance in a harsh societal world. As different as these ii stories are, the lessons and morals that are extracted from it are no doubt like in many ways. The features, the themes, the symbolisms all found in the belles-lettres of both authors demonstrate diversity in history and setting. Everyday Use and The Moths epitomize very distinctive worlds and characters that later prove to be the attach to putting together lessons of understanding and assertion in stalwart situations. Whether it is stubborn Dee or the distant granddaughter who narrates the writing, the story that unfolds from each funny author proves to have a selected audience to truly radiate on the message being sowed.
Characters are a all important(p) component to a narrative. In both writings, certain underlying roles make the story come alive and be colorful. The return from Everyday Use is a black female first described as a woman with big manly hands.



I am a large, big-boned woman with rough, man-working hands. In the winter, I endure overalls during the day. . .
