It is tradition that universities practically have professors give a Last Lecture, a talking to where they have to consider their death and then talk astir(predicate) what matters most to them. When Randy Pausch was asked to give his speech, he had already been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer at the age of 47, which is a malignant neoplasm of the pancreas. He was a hard working man, husband, and father. He had deuce-ace children and all were to young to understand what was about to happen to their father. He wanted to leave something behind so his kids would know his legacy. His wife Jai was not exactly supportive of him wanting to the lecture at first but when she finds the real reason of him doing it she understood. The difference in Randys final exam talk and the other professors who had preceded him was that his speech wasnt about dying. It was about the importance of overcoming and finding a way of life around the brick walls, of making possible the dreams of others, of taking advantage of both minute of every day.
It was about living life to the fullest and bountiful it all you could give with no regrets. Â In the third, fourth and ordinal chapters of the book, he talks about adventures and lessons learned, enabling the dreams of others and about how to live your life. Randy sums these chapters up by saying, This section may be called Its About How to Live Your Life, but its really about how Ive tried to live mine. I crack its my way of saying: Heres what worked for me. Â In the final chapter, Final Remarks, Randy talks about the dreams he has for his children.
