~ person-to-person GOALS 2 Personal Goals As a person who took 20 years to fulfill her most desired dream of decent a Registered Nurse, I understand the commitment, dedication, and hard bat it takes to end up a goal successfully. The journey was long and there were some difficulties along the way, n atomic number 53 of which I regret. These challenges made me stronger and more headstrong to succeed. Now that I am a practicing nurse in a busy hospital, I realize I am not yet finished accomplishing all that I peck. I want to advance in my career and live a long and healthy life. Moving forward, I own do two personal and two pro for myself. My first professional goal is to obtain my BSN to broaden my career opportunities and have the incident to advance into a management position after end my degree. Working within the VA system, opportunity for advancement is minimal for nurses with provided an associates degree. Each class I complete takes me one step closer to achieving my first professional goal. In preparedness for achieving my first goal, I applied for a scholarship. I was selected and canonical for the funding. With the economy today I do not receive when I would have had the financial means to return to direct otherwise.

According to a recent study conducted by a hospital system in Southwest Florida (Morrison & McNulty, 2012) the greatest barriers to poring over advanced education were: 1) beat constraints, specifically family and work enumeration conflicts; and 2) financial concerns. These both have been barriers for me which I recognized and prepare up plans to overcome. The second professional goal I have set is to better manage my time at work so that I am better able to channelise my work day, complete all tasks on time or ahead of schedule, and make going home on time a reality.
