Review/ synopsis of the Case:
Common law:
A practiced custom dating back to medieval England and adopted by the compound law makers of the United States; common law is law that relies intemperately on judicial precedent based largely from preceding cases. Common law is not necessarily a compose law, as much as it is an implied law that is widely screwd. For example, a common law mating is not a traditional form of marriage where a man and women buy a marriage license, stand before a justice of the peace, a preacher, or a priest and exchange vows with the ceremony terminus in them being pronounced husband and wife. This type of marriage is when you have committed yourself to each opposite and live together for an extended amount of years, which in some states will recognize you as married.
Jurisdiction:
Jurisdiction as I distinguish it is defined as the bounder or surface area controlled; be it physical land or even an area of expertise, by a legally appointed entity. This entity could be a town, township, city, county, or country.

For example the Butler County Sheriff has jurisdiction over any area within the legally defined boundaries of said county; such as a Town, Township or City. The Butler County Sheriff does not even so have jurisdiction in any otherwise adjoin counties or areas within that state or any other state out side of the boundaries of his particular county.

Precedent is a legal case which establishes a principle or rule that is utilize by other courts or other judicial body when deciding a cases with similar facts or issues. An example of this would be Roe Verses Wade; a moot landmark decision which became the case precedent for legalizing abortion.
