Measuring the water concentration of jail cell chump apply plant tissue
Aim: To determine the concentration of saccharose solution which has an equivalent water concentration to the plant cell sap.
Materials:
White Tile
Large stump spud
Range of sucrose solution=s.s (0.1M,0.2M,0.3M,0.4M,0.5M)
plug borer (8mm)
Scalpel
Ruler
Measuring Cylinder
Stop Clock
Paper Towels
5 turn Tubes=b.t
Test Tube Rack
Balance:0.001g resolution
Method: A blank tile, large white potato vine, range of s.s, cork borer, scalpel, measuring cylinder, stop time, reputation towels, 5 b.t, test tube rack and a rest were collected. A cork borer was use to pass over louvre pieces of potato, which then each piece of potato was then cut down feather into 2cm pieces which each piece was then cut down again to four pieces. A measuring cylinder was used to measure 10ml of each s.s individually, which were then added to the b.ts. The potato pieces were dabbed dry using a paper towel, then weighed on a sleep and the starting gage was recorded in a table. The 4 pieces of each potato were then added to the boiling tubes of s.s. The stop clock was set for an hour. After the hour was finished the 4 pieces of the potato were collected out of the boiling tubes, dabbed dry and weighed again, the end mass was then recorded in the same table as before. Then the percentage change in mass was measured so that a class average could be collected. The net results were displayed in a line graph.

My Results:
|Concentration of Sucrose root |Mass of Potato at start |Mass of Potato at end |Percentage change in mass(%) |
|(M) |(g) |(g) | |
