Student Learning Objectives: (1) command of the basic concepts of strategic watchfulness (SM), which involves long-term planning for the perfect organization. Studying strategy allows students to adopt the perspective of the CEO and/or other members of the TMT (Top Management Team). Knowledge of strategy helps all schoolmaster employees understand how their job fits into the overall business plan.
(2) Mastery of the baptistry method, a form of business instruction where students take up memorial accounts of real business problems and must analyze what the correct management action should be.
Format of Chapter Modules: We will devote two home sessions to each chapter of the text.
* The startle class session will disport a PowerPoint lecture and time for informal class discussion.
* The certify class meeting will be devoted to the culmination racing shell at the end of the chapter. Students are expected to: (1) read the case before class; (2) working in a group in-class, discuss each of the questions at the end of the case; and (3) write up your groups answers to the case questions on a single sheet of paper and hand it in for a shared grade.
Format of the Web research Modules: We will devote a total of four weeks to Web Research assignments.
* Working individually, outside of class, students will research a government issue on the Internet and prepare a written summary.
